DAVIS Teams Up with Local Organizations to Celebrate the Season of Giving
At DAVIS, a cornerstone of our mission is giving back to the communities that support us. This Thanksgiving, we were honored to participate in several heartwarming charity events to benefit those in need. Through these partnerships, we came together to build towards a better future.
Vernon Davis Foundation's Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway
Super Bowl champion and DC native Vernon Davis hosted a Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway along with fellow former Washington athlete Santana Moss at Chase Skyland Town Center in Southeast DC. Along with great partners like H2 Design Build, we were able to sponsor the event and provide more than 450 free turkeys to the public. Learn more about the Vernon Davis Foundation on their website!
Poor Robert's Mission Turkey Drive
Our week continued as we partnered with Poor Robert's Mission for their annual Turkey Drive. Poor Robert's Mission has been delivering turkeys to those in need for over 50 years—this year, over 7000 turkeys were delivered to more than 100 organizations! Food + Friends Meal Deliveries
Food and Friends provides meals, groceries, and nutrition to those living with serious illnesses. DAVIS volunteers helped deliver food directly to our neighbors’ doors during a busy Thanksgiving week, during which they were able to prepare 4,500 dinners. Comstock's Thanksgiving Drive
Teaming up with Comstock Companies, we participated in their Thanksgiving Drive during which 238 meals were delivered to Cornerstones, a nonprofit that provides support and advocacy for those without food and shelter in Virginia. Thank you to Comstock for organizing an awesome drive!
