The MEP Coordinator is responsible for assisting MEP teams with daily management, coordination, and successful completion of the group’s basic functions and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the MEP Team with technical and administrative tasks as required
Exposure to, and understand the difference between, estimates, GMP’s and competitive bids
Participate in estimate / bid assembly
Attend project kick-off meetings
Quantity takeoff – exposure to MEP takeoff software
Update unit pricing data sheets
Contact vendors/suppliers to get equipment and material pricing as required
Contact MEP vendors / suppliers to ensure all the trade bidders are captured; add them to Building Connected
Contact MEP trade partners and encourage them to participate in the bid / preconstruction efforts
Follow through with calls to the trade partners / suppliers to confirm bid status
Enter trade partner proposals in Building Connected.
Download trade partner proposals into the project’s trade partner folder
Assist with assembling trade partner bids as required
Assist with scope writing and qualification development – exposure to divisions 21, 22, 23, 28
Research and compile the MEP historical database for use in future estimate preparation and competitive bids
Assists with the maintenance of the MEP VE Log
Establish new MEP trade partner / supplier relationships
Assist the MEP trade partners with the prequalification process
Coordinate the distribute project documents when required
Update the MEP Weekly Estimating Schedule as required
Assist with the organization of the Trade Partner Fair
Assist the MEP team to develop an educational program
Attend site visits for projects as required
Exposure to networking events and organizations
Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE + SPECIAL SKILLS *Required
At least one (1) to three (3) years of experience supporting a department with the management and coordinator of daily functions
Decision making, research and analytical problem solving skills*
Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently*
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization*
Familiarity with the design process and related design disciplines
Construction industry experience preferred
Plan reading experience preferred
PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS

Needs a high degree of concentration in a busy office environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may require some travel for conferences, educational sessions, and other company events. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to higher noise levels and hazardous working conditions when working at job sites. The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
