The Solutions Architect is to work with stakeholders, leadership and subject matter experts to build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. This knowledge is used to ensure that the business and technology solutions are in alignment and to link the business mission, strategy, and processes of an organization to its Business Solutions strategy.
Essential duties + responsibilities
Business Needs and Solutions
- Align Business Solutions applications and data strategy and planning with company's business goals
- Optimize information management through an understanding of evolving business needs and technology capabilities
- Take strategic responsibility for the company's enterprise solutions + systems
- Participate in development and implementation of new business systems
- Analyze and validate requirements against potential software and hardware solutions
- Define solution requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms
- Work with other staff members to provide consensus-based enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business needs
- Coordinating with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines
Power Platform Development
- Develop and maintain Microsoft’s Power Platform (Canvas + Model Driven Apps, Power Automate, etc)
Data Management
- Participate in, manage and develop Master Data Management strategy
- Participate in, manage and develop the Data Warehouse
- Manage and maintain Relational Data Stores
- Design conceptual and logical data models in support to enterprise reporting and visualization platforms
Integrations
- Create, manage and maintain integrations between enterprise solutions (e.g. using documented APIs)
- Participate in, manage and develop integration strategy
- Participate in, manage and develop ETL work
- Automation utilizing Power Platform and Azure Services
Systems
- Build solutions in a secure manner to satisfy DAVIS internal requirements and outside compliance where appropriate
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance
- Has direct or indirect involvement in development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct selection, development, implementation and use of Business Solutions within DAVIS
Planning + Project Management
- Participate in annual Business Solutions project planning
- Lead Business Solutions projects
- Develop documentation to support projects, programs and system configurations
- Ensure business solutions do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and/or business and strategies
Financial + Asset Management
- Participate in annual Business Solutions budgeting process
- Review existing suite of tools and explores/evaluates new solutions, understands change impact of new solutions
- Promote shared solutions to reduce costs and improve information flows
- Perform risk management of solutions through appropriate standards and security policies
General
- Perform responsibilities with trust, excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in DAVIS core values
- May develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides
- Adhere to and reinforces corporate security policies and industry best practices in day to day operations and interactions with end users
- Maintain and foster relationships with outside technology consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for products and services
- Serve as a liaison between 3rd party solution providers and DAVIS internal business groups
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Experience + Special Skills
*Required
- Seven (7) to nine (9) years related experience; minimum of four (4) years supporting enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of data architecture and administration*
- Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills*
- Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand*
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment and show initiative to take on responsibility when not asked*
- Knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering*
- Knowledge of information systems and technology governance and operations*
- Knowledge of the business for which business solutions are being developed*
- Ability to see how parts interact within a larger scope and apply a systems thinking approach to the bigger picture of the business*
- Project and program management planning and organizational skills*
- Decision making, research and analytical problem-solving skills*
- Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently*
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective interaction at all levels within the organization*
- MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience*
- Previous construction industry experience preferred
- Align Solution Architect work to aide in and support DAVIS business processes

PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS

WORKING CONDITIONS

The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$165,000.00 - $205,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
