SUMMARY:
The Yard Technician helps lead the DAVIS Yard in supporting our field operations at our construction sites. Primary responsibilities include tracking, inspection, maintenance, delivery and pick-up of tools and materials to our project sites and assisting in the management of DAVIS’ fleet vehicles and Yard warehouse operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum of one (1) year previous experience in Construction or Yard environment
Advanced understanding of tools, equipment and materials utilized at commercial construction project sites and understanding of safe operating procedures
Holds a driving record in good standing; demonstrates a safe driving history
Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization
TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Performs scheduled and as-needed runs to and from project sites, transporting tools and materials
Manages inventory processes, including tracking, ordering, and organizing tools and materials to ensure accurate stock levels
Adheres to and enforces safety standards and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all yard personnel
Works effectively within a team and promotes a positive, collaborative team atmosphere
Coordinates and manages the delivery and pick-up of tools and materials to and from project sites, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment
Maintains yard facilities and warehouses in an organized, clean, and safe condition
Loads and unloads vehicles safely, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment
Conducts routine maintenance checks on tools and equipment to confirm operational readiness prior to deployment
Maintains operator certification (CL7B) and operates heavy equipment including forklifts and skid steers in accordance with safety regulations
Monitors unfulfilled and partially fulfilled orders in software, adding comments with updated delivery information to keep the Yard Specialist informed
Assists in the management of DAVIS’ fleet vehicles

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$29.81 - $36.06DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
