2024 - Continuing Our Dedication to Community Outreach

The DAVIS mission is to build success for all, which takes us beyond the built environment. With community outreach at the core of our culture, we’ve partnered with numerous organizations that foster meaningful change in our communities for over 50 years. 2024 was no different as we continued to support local groups dedicated to a variety of causes, from health and wellness to safe and affordable housing.

American Heart Association

We proudly partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) for our seventh year to fight against heart disease and stroke. 75 had a blast at this year’s AHA Greater Washington Region Heart Walk, including Principal Mike Pittsman who serves on the event’s Executive Leadership Team. We surpassed our record-setting goal of $65,000 and raised $66,750 in support of breakthrough research, CPR training, treatment development, and equitable healthcare.

Calvary Women’s Services

Calvary Women’s Services empowers homeless women in DC to rebuild their lives through housing, health, education, and employment programs. With Kara Mele continuing her service as a Board Member for the organization, we supported multiple events, including sponsorship and donating raffle prizes to the Hope Awards, and supporting the Holidays Soiree.  This year, after a gas explosion at the organization’s flagship housing site displaced many residents of their transitional housing program, we stepped in to repair and renovate the building. From restoring gutted offices to installing new drywall throughout the entire building, our team transformed the space into a brand new, vibrant residency in just six months.

Habitat For Humanity Metro Maryland – Women Build

Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland (HFHMM) empowers low-income families through affordable housing. Their Women Build program unites hundreds of women statewide to construct homes, particularly for single mothers. We sponsored two teams of ten women, dedicating two impactful days to the cause. On the first day, our teams built prefabricated walls for an apartment complex in Silver Spring. The second day took us to Upper Marlboro, where we laid flooring and installed cabinets in a home for its new owner. We’re proud to have given hands-on help!

Rebuilding Together Montgomery County

For the last four years we've sponsored a home renovation project with Rebuilding Together Montgomery County (RTMC). This year, in tandem with Rock Spring Drywall, our volunteers spent over 250 hours rebuilding a home that had been destroyed by a fire. While the homeowner had rebuilt much of the home with a modular home builder, they needed more help. Our team performed essential work such as foundation repairs, debris cleanup, and the installation of a functional kitchen.

Jubilee Housing

We are always happy to help our long-time friends at Jubilee Housing bring joy and resources to families in need. This year we participated in a number of events, including donating to and volunteering at the Elf Store, where children in the Jubilee community can shop for gifts for their families. We sponsored a Raise the Roof musical event to raise funds and awareness for the organization, donated school supplies and helped prepare backpacks for the Jubilee Back-to-School programming.

Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games

Breakthrough T1D is dedicated to creating a future without Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Each year, the DC Real Estate Games are hosted to raise funds for research, care, and treatment of T1D. As a sponsor and participant, over 45 of our interns and employees competed in games such as Jenga, basketball, volleyball, and more to help raise an incredible $600,000 in total for the organization!

Samaritan Inns

In partnership with Clark Construction Group, we co-hosted the 11th Annual Samaritan Inns fundraising breakfast at District E in Washington, DC. With the support of our mutual trade partners, clients, and associates, we raised $52,000 to support the organization, which provides rehabilitation programs, aid, and shelter for those recovering from homelessness and addiction. We are proud to continue supporting the Samaritan Inns’ vital work!

DAVIS’ 11th Annual Golf Tournament

Each year, DAVIS hosts a Golf Tournament at Cattail Creek Country Club in Glenwood, MD to benefit local organizations. This year, the event brought together 130 participants representing 34 trade and industry partners, who generously helped us to raise over $70,000. The funds were donated to the Capital Area Food Bank, which provides 60+ million meals to families in need a year, and Meritus Health Foundation, which ensures the community has access to high-quality healthcare through charity care.
