2017 DAVIS Interns: Starting Summer Off Right

Our class of 2017 interns has arrived, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to the DAVIS family! Through our University Partnership Program, we partner with the best engineering and construction programs in the country to recruit for our nationally ranked internship.

This summer, we’re welcoming 32 students from seven universities, with six students returning to DAVIS after interning with us last year. Twenty interns will be working on project sites and twelve will be stationed in our Rockville HQ. Interns are assigned to seven of our ten market sectors including: office buildings, office interiors, repositioning + renovation, cultural + community, public sector, healthcare, and multi-family residential. In addition, we have interns assigned to preconstruction + estimating, EHS and virtual construction + reality capture practice areas.

We’re dedicated to providing our interns with the best industry experience while at DAVIS. We work with each intern to ensure that they leave with real-life, credible construction experience that they can build on. Through expert education and mentorship, we know they’re receiving the professional experience needed for a successful career in the industry. That’s why we’ve hired more than half of our graduating interns over the last five years!

We have a packed summer ahead for this year’s class. In addition to their regular work schedule on and off the jobsite, we’ve included educational courses, social events, and community engagement + corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Like last year, you can follow our interns’ progress on Instagram @theDAVISintern – an account exclusively dedicated to our DAVIS internship program. Beginning this week, interns will manage and guest-author the account to share their unique experience for one week each throughout the summer. We can’t wait to see their progress!
