DAVIS Breaks Ground at College Park City Hall

We recently joined officials from the University of Maryland and the city of College Park in the city’s downtown area to mark the start of construction at the future location of the new College Park City Hall.

At the project’s site on Knox Road, representatives braved the cold weather and got together to speak about the new building, as well as scoop some dirt from the site’s ground. The 95,000-SF city hall will include ground-floor retail as well as office space for both College Park and UMD officials.

This new city hall will include some of the most important administrative functions at the University of Maryland. It is my hope that in the future we will look back on this transformation, and we will say it was the renaissance of College Park.

- Wallace Loh, President, University of Maryland

The collaborative project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2021 and adds another valuable piece to our ever-expanding higher education portfolio. Exploring more work outside the traditional boundaries of the classroom, the team recently completed an addition to the Hylton Performing Arts Center at George Mason University as well as the conversion of a swimming pool to a theater at the Lab School of Washington.

We are very excited to start building this project that will help to strengthen the partnership between the University of Maryland and the City of College Park. This was a strategic pursuit and win for the Education Group.
