Project Brief

The Industrial Commons Innovation Campus is a large-scale redevelopment of the former Drexel 3 & 5 furniture factory in Morganton, NC into a hub for textile innovation, circularity, and community engagement. The Accelerator Building is a 44,000-SF, mass timber space designed for sustainable manufacturing, with reclaimed wood from salvaged materials featured throughout in custom furniture, countertops, and more. Flexible training spaces and offices will also be housed in the new building, which will help The Industrial Commons (TIC) connect with their community of textile manufacturers in the Southern Appalachian region. Look out for this project to be completed in 2027!
