ONE Campaign
Project Brief
In a city known for political campaigns, ONE Campaign breaks the mold. Cofounded by Bono of U2 and other activists, this nonpartisan organization needed a new DC headquarters – and our DAVIS team was selected to lead the charge.
While we proudly won the work because of our proven expertise conducting high-end, fast-paced interior build-outs, we were even prouder to support ONE Campaign’s philanthropic mission. Knowing the space would be used to better our world—specifically, to fight extreme poverty and secure funding for global health initiatives—inspired our team to go above and beyond. And ultimately, we defied all odds to deliver the project on time and under-budget.

A Shortened Schedule
When our team was first approached about the project, we knew the timeline would be tight. In fact, the client representative specifically chose DAVIS because of our ability to complete highly detailed interior projects at lightning speeds. So, we prepared ourselves for an aggressive 15-week schedule – but then came the plot twist.
Complexities with the city caused a six-week delay in receiving the building permit. This meant putting our work on the walls, ceilings, and finishes on-hold. But despite the delay, we still had to meet the original deadline by ramping-up our manpower and strategically planning every detail. This enabled us to accelerate our work once we had the permit in-hand.
The client appreciated that we did everything in our power to buy back the lost time. Our commitment to meeting the original schedule set the foundation for a trusting relationship. Thus, when additional challenges arose, ONE Campaign trusted our approach and knew that we’d deliver a successful final product.
An Open Space All Their Own
Like many organizations, ONE Campaign needed new office space to increase collaboration and productivity. Their former DC office was spread-out and chopped-up across multiple floors – making it difficult for colleagues to engage with one another. Therefore, our job was to build-out the new space to feel as open, airy, and collaborative as possible. From an architectural standpoint, this meant providing features like open ceilings.
In addition to the open layout, it was important that the new office space reflected ONE Campaign’s mission and personality. Our team installed and coordinated unique finishes—like pendant lighting, black walls, and metal ceilings. But perhaps our favorite feature was the Wall of Hope. Designed to display books from all of the different countries supported by ONE Campaign, this wall of bookcases stretches the entire entryway of the office space. Not only was this wall’s millwork exciting for us to install, we were also deeply touched by its purpose and meaning.
