Savills is a real estate services firm specializing in tenant representation — and they're also a valued, longstanding partner of ours. Typically, Savills represents clients during construction projects — but this time around, it was their turn to be the client. Faced with an expiring lease, the company needed an expert partner to tackle the interior construction of its new DC location — and fast. Because of our many successful projects together, they trusted us to get the job done right.

Come On, Get Happy!

It was critical that we renovate and deliver Savills' new office on time. This drove our schedule, specifically in procuring and managing the shipment of high-end materials from overseas — including importing unique tiles from Turkey designated for the elevator lobby, reception area, and conference rooms.

In addition to stone and tile work, specialty finishes and demountable office walls with clear glass create a modern, sleek, and bright office — one that fosters a collaborative work environment. This spirit of collaboration and social interaction is further demonstrated through the happy room — an important piece of the company's office culture carried over from its old space. Designed for daily lunch and impromptu meetings, this adaptable space serves as a hub for Savills' DC employees and includes a pantry and service bar, an 80-inch digital screen, and writable glass walls.

In the elevator lobby, a custom sliding barn door was created to provide privacy while maintaining flexibility and giving the functionality of a separate space. We ensured the wood on the barn door was a perfect match for the millwork throughout the entire office. In fact, it all came from the same tree!
