Luminis Health Behavioral Health Pavillion
Project Brief
Luminis Health’s Behavioral Health Pavilion filled urgent gaps in mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities in Prince George’s County, a community where residents have long been underserved in mental health care. With a range of crucial services under one roof, a greater number of individuals can find care without crossing county lines.
DAVIS completed the fit-out of the existing two-story Magnolia Building with a partial basement. The space was divided into inpatient and outpatient areas across two floors; the second floor was equipped with a 16-bed acute psychiatric unit for adults directly connected to the main hospital and the first floor accommodated a comprehensive outpatient behavioral health service with an 8-bed residential crisis program, an outpatient day hospital, urgent care, and an outpatient addiction program.
Core and shell upgrades involved extensive structural modifications, including a 3-stop elevator system, updated roofing, new windows, and significant improvements to the building’s HVAC systems and power distribution.
